There’s something so special about capturing those very first days — the tiny fingers, soft sighs, and all the love surrounding a new little life. Baby Lennon’s studio newborn session in Lakeville, MN was a beautiful reminder that even when things don’t go exactly as planned, patience and presence make all the difference.

Lennon came to the studio with his amazing parents, Marrea and Tyler. From the moment they arrived, it was clear how deeply in love they are with their baby boy. We started the session in the Lakeville photography studio, which I offer complimentary to all my newborn clients. It’s designed to feel warm, calm, and comfortable — the perfect space for a relaxed, baby-led experience.


Like many newborns, Lennon had his own ideas about the day! He was a little fussy and needed a few breaks to feed and be soothed. These pauses are part of what makes newborn photography so authentic — and they’re always welcome. I allow plenty of time in each session so no one feels rushed. That’s the beauty of following your baby’s rhythm.

Just when we thought we might be wrapping up with only a few images, Lennon gave us a perfect surprise. Toward the end of the session, he completely relaxed — and that’s when the magic happened. We captured the most serene, heartfelt portraits that brought the entire gallery together into something truly special.


Marrea and Tyler were incredibly patient, and their love and calm presence made such a difference. This session turned into a full, beautiful story of their first days as a family of three — full of love, connection, and quiet joy.
