Baby Louis - 10 days old
We had the sweetest, most relaxing newborn session with baby Louis. I had recently captured maternity photos for mom & dad and it was so fun to see them again- this time with a real life baby in their arms. Louis was just 10 days old for his newborn session, so we were able to capture some of the raw tiny details that you tend to see only when babies are super fresh.
I love newborn sessions at home because they are relaxing and simply just more comfortable for the new parents and their little babes. We spent about an hour and a half shooting Louis's session since we took some breaks for milk time and diaper & outfit changes. This is what capturing lifestyle newborn sessions looks like - we're not stressed about creating perfectly posed photos. Instead, I look to capture you and your baby in the most authentic way that will help you remember what those early days with a newborn really looked like.
We bounced around between mom & dad's room and baby's nursery for this session. The natural light was a bit better in the parent's bedroom, so we spent more of our time shooting in there, but still captured some great moments in the nursery.
We ended the session by capturing some precious tiny detail shots of baby Louis. These can be the toughest shots to get, especially if babe is hungry or overly tired. I encourage mamas to try to feed baby before their session in hopes of having a full, sleepy baby. If your babe ends up being awake and hungry for our session, that's OK! That's why we take our time and break for snacks as needed.
